Expedition Water Filters
If you are going on an expedition of any kind, an expedition
water filter is a must. Clean drinking water is not always
available and a water filter will help to ensure that you don’t
get sick and stay healthy. There are two major expedition water
filters that stand above the rest. These are the Katadyn System
and the CTOM expedition water filters. Both companies will earn
your trust in having superior water filters for any kind of
expedition.
Katadyn
Expedition Water Filters
This water filter is used worldwide by large expedition
groups, government and humanitarian relief organizations. It
comes with a prefilter and a carry bag and it is literally
indestructible and very easy to use.
Katadyn filters will remove all bacteria from natural
untreated water such as rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, springs,
reservoirs and wells. It can completely remove Giardia and
other cysts as well as coliform. It is continually flushed by
decontaminated water that is free of infective
microorganisms.
Katadyn filters will also remove parasites, algae, fungi,
pollen, nuclear explosion debris, asbestos fibers, invisible
dust particles and larger suspended particles and sediment. It
leaves you with clear water that tastes good.
CTOM
Expedition Water Filters
CTOM Filters have a non-clogging forward osmosis filter that
allows you to take water from almost any source and clean it.
Its levels of purity are comparable to reverse osmosis systems
and the filter meets EPA standards for the removal of viruses,
bacteria and cysts.
There is no hydraulic pressure involved and therefore the
CTOM Expedition will never clog. The osmotic filtration is
driven by sports drink syrup. This generates a dilute sports
drink full of electrolytes for better performance and
hydration. An entire bladder of water is filtered by one small
syrup pouch, generating 25 times its volume in clean drink at
the rate of one liter every hour. This greatly reduces the
amount of water you have to carry in remote areas.
The bottom line is you are going on any type of expedition,
either of these expedition water filters will serve the purpose
to the maximum degree. Both are very easy to use, light in
weight and are able to filter a fairly large amount of water
when needed. Expedition water filters are a must for a long
excursion.
